Hunting Guide needed at outfitter which provides guided services in Idaho, Montana, Utah, & Washington.
Applicants must be experienced elk and deer hunters with reliable 4×4 transportation; must have binoculars, rangefnder, camera, compass or gps, compact first aid kit, and a few other small items in day pack; must have a deluxe first aid kit, shovel, axe, spare tire, jack, lugwrench, and fire extinguisher in vehicle; must have a current first aid and cpr card; must know how to skin, cape, and care for meat; must understand the state hunting rules and guiding laws, and must have spent at least 10 days learning the hunt area and game movements and habits prior to being licensed and guiding hunters. If you are new to the area training time will be arranged prior to season.
Applicants cannot have felonies or wildlife violations on their record, a background check is done before you are licensed. Only honest, law abiding, hard working persons with no drug or alcohol abuse issues should apply. Previous guiding experience is beneficial.
Guides are responsible for the safe, ethical, and lawful conduct of hunts and maintaining a positive image of Bearpaw Outfitters with clients and with the public. Guides should have good personal hygene and act friendly and professional with clients and the public. Guides should scout for game and help with last minute preparations before clients arrive and help cleanup as needed after clients leave.
Wages & Bonuses: New guides earn $96 per day wages, $34 per day auto and equipment allowance, and any tips from clients. If you work all the agreed number of days you get a $100 to $400 bonus for each successful elk and deer hunt. Lodging and meals are included and fuel is provided when guiding from the time you arrive until you depart.
