Internship Tour Guide needed in Alaska for July/August 2021

Infinite Adventures is seeking an intern for July 15th to August 30th to help facilitate adventure camping trips.

Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities:

• help with all aspects and logistics during our adventure camping trips in Alaska
• prepare camp breakfast, help with lunches and dinners
• help with guiding: take clients on hikes, provide information on the area (we will provide you with this information beforehand and help you get acclimated) and take part in activities with clients (like kayaking and ice climbing – no previous experience needed, but helpful)
• help with taking care of gear (tents, kitchen gear, etc)
• help with shopping, setting up camp, camp kitchen, help clients put up tents, help with camp safety

Essential Qualifications:

• either enrolled in a college program related to outdoor / recreation/ tourism/ adventure management or 1-2 years experience in tourism/customer service
• willing to work for 6 weeks straight with no days off
• desire to learn and achieve new skills every single day
• physically able to hike 5-7 hrs (strenuous hikes, not every day but 3-4 times during a 20 day trip)
• the ability to think ahead and anticipate as well as the desire to entertain clients
• CPR certification (can be obtained online before starting internship)

Desired Qualifications:

• strong customer service orientation
• some experiences in Alaska
• desire to work for us in 2022 and beyond
