Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and Coast Guard licensed Boat Captain to join our team as a Kayak Horseshoe Bend Guide. The successful candidate will navigate the Colorado River to drop guests at their starting point for their paddle, providing guests with an immersive and memorable experience while prioritizing safety and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Kayak Tours: Drive excursions to Horseshoe Bend, providing expert instruction and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Coast Guard regulations and safety protocols to ensure a safe and secure experience for guests on the water.

Customer Satisfaction: Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, addressing their needs, and enhancing their overall experience.

Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of kayaks and safety equipment to ensure proper functionality and guest safety.

Environmental Awareness: Promote environmental stewardship and educate guests on the natural beauty and conservation efforts in the area.

Sales and Promotion: Assist in promoting additional services and merchandise to guests, maximizing sales opportunities and contributing to the success of Kayak Horseshoe Bend, Cliff Dwellers Lodge, and Lees Ferry Anglers.

Qualifications:

Coast Guard Boat Captain License: Possess a valid Coast Guard Boat Captain License.

Experience: Demonstrated experience as a boat captain or kayak guide, preferably in a river or similar environment.

Passion for Adventure: Genuine enthusiasm for outdoor adventures and a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.

Customer Focus: Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach and the ability to engage with guests of all ages and backgrounds.

Safety Conscious: Prioritize safety at all times and demonstrate proficiency in water safety procedures.

Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors and handle the physical demands of kayaking tours, including lifting and carrying kayaks and equipment.

Compensation:

This position is commission-based, with compensation determined by the number of tours, along with a daily base rate. Average 6 month earnings 50-70k.
