{"id":28891,"date":"2023-01-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-01-24T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cooljobs.com\/?post_type=job_listing&#038;p=28891"},"modified":"2023-04-12T14:11:50","modified_gmt":"2023-04-12T18:11:50","slug":"early-education-teacher-in-winter-park-co","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.cooljobs.com\/?post_type=job_listing&p=28891","title":{"rendered":"Early Education Teacher in Winter Park, CO"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"ad_copy\">\n<p><u><strong>POSITION SUMMARY:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Maintain a friendly, professional, and congenial attitude while effectively caring for the children and working with parents, guests, and other employees.<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implements by instruction and action the center\u2019s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Provides effective instructional techniques for all students in the classroom.<\/li>\n<li>To maintain the safety and supervision of all children.<\/li>\n<li>To assure compliance with the policies and procedures of the EEC, Winter Park Resort, and the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Office of Early Childhood.<\/li>\n<li>Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of the students.<\/li>\n<li>Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher attendants and volunteers and, cooperatively with supervisors, evaluate their job performance.<\/li>\n<li>Assisting the Director\/ Assistant Director in keeping accurate attendance records for each child.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain EEC in a clean, orderly, safe condition.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain effective communication with parents and staff.<\/li>\n<li>Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Early Childhood Teacher<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An early childhood teacher, assigned responsibility for a single group of children and working under the supervision of a director, must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and must meet at least one of the following qualifications:<\/li>\n<li>A Bachelor&#8217;s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major area of study in one of the following areas:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1) Early childhood education;<\/p>\n<p>2) Elementary education;<\/p>\n<p>3) Special education;<\/p>\n<p>4) Family and child development; or,<\/p>\n<p>5) Child psychology.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor\u2019s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major area of study in any area other than those listed in Section 7.702.54, A, 1, A and additional two (2) three-semester hour early childhood education college courses with one course being either an introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies;<\/li>\n<li>Current early childhood professional Credential Level III Version 2.0 as determined by the Colorado Department of Education; CODE OF COLORADO REGULATIONS 12 CCR 2509-8 Social Services Rules 49<\/li>\n<li>A 2-year college degree, sixty (60) semester hours, in early childhood education from a regionally accredited college or university, which must include at least two (2) three-semester hour courses, one of which must be an either introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies; and at least six (6) months (910 hours) of satisfactory experience;<\/li>\n<li>Completion of twelve (12) semester hours from a regionally accredited college or university, at either a two-year, four years or graduate level, in each of the following subject or content areas in early childhood education and one of the three (3) semester hour courses must be either an introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies, plus nine (9) months (1,395 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children less than six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual;<\/li>\n<li>Completion of a vocational or occupational education sequence in child growth and development plus twelve (12) months (1,820 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children less than six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual;<\/li>\n<li>Current certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA) or other Department-approved credentials;<\/li>\n<li>Completion of a course of training approved by the Department that includes training and work experience with children in a child growth and development program plus twelve (12) months (1,820 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children less than six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual; or,<\/li>\n<li>Twenty-four (24) months (3,640 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children less than six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual. Satisfactory experience includes being a licensee of a Colorado family child cares home; a teacher\u2019s aide or a teacher in a child care center, preschool, or elementary school, plus either:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1) A current Colorado Level I credential; or,<\/p>\n<p>2) Two (2) three-semester hour early childhood education college courses from a regionally accredited college or university, at either a two-year, four-year, or graduate level, in each of the following subject or content areas with one course being either an introduction to early childhood education or guidance strategies.<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Early Education Center employees will be required to supply and\/or obtain the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Aid Certification<\/li>\n<li>Infant\/Child CPR certification<\/li>\n<li>Record of immunizations<\/li>\n<li>Physical examination<\/li>\n<li>Fingerprints<\/li>\n<li>Central Registry Background check<\/li>\n<li>Three written references<\/li>\n<li>Emergency contact information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u><strong>TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>When authorized, may drive a 15-passenger van with children and adults to field trips and activities.<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move\u00a0and position a minimum of 30 pounds on an\u00a0occasional basis.<\/li>\n<li>Manual dexterity to operate a computer\u00a0and other common office equipment on a constant basis.<\/li>\n<li>Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices, and basic office equipment on a constant basis.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.<\/li>\n<li>Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with children, co-teachers, directors, and parents.<\/li>\n<li>Routine cleaning of surfaces and toys.\u00a0 Loading dishwasher and washer, mopping the floors when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Routine sanitizing and disinfecting with hazardous chemicals.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work for extended periods of\u00a0time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional\u00a0basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Mountain Environment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be prepared to take children outside in weather as cold as 5\u00b0.<\/li>\n<li>Closed-toed shoes are recommended due to varying ground surfaces.<\/li>\n<li>You will be provided with an outdoor uniform.<\/li>\n<li>Supervising children in busy, tourist environments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Housekeeping:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Most work tasks are performed indoors- the temperature is moderate and controlled by environmental systems.<\/li>\n<li>Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.<\/li>\n<li>Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.<\/li>\n<li>Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment and products.<\/li>\n<li>Able to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to non-slip shoes, protective eyewear, and protective gloves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily- reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions<\/em><\/p>\n<p><u><strong>WAGE:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts&#8217; hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and\/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts&#8217; total compensation package for employees.
