Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit (START) Bus is hiring qualified Transit Operators/Bus Drivers for or up 40 hrs/wk and for fill-in/part-time for the spring/summer season now through September 18, 2022.
$22.00/hr. Up to $300 summer season bonus. Summer season dates: May 30 – September 18, 2022. Use of Town of Jackson gym and free entry to the Teton County Rec. Center.
This is an excellent opportunity for a value-centered, team-oriented professional interested in public service as well as interested in enjoying a vibrant Rocky Mountain summer resort lifestyle with world-class river rafting, fishing, and hiking and biking trails in Bridger Teton National Forest, as well as Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.
Primary duty is the operation of a bus in order to transport and assist the general public along a fixed route. Routes include transporting summer visitors/employees/ guests to and from the Town of Jackson and Teton Village, transporting locally employed and visitors throughout the Town, fill-in shifts transporting commuters from Teton Valley Idaho and Star Valley Wyoming, and fill-in shifts serving our most vulnerable with ADA service all while operating traditional diesel-powered buses, motor coaches for commuters, hybrid diesel/electric buses, smaller gas-powered shuttle buses, and our new all-electric Proterra buses. Electronic data/pass scanning on most buses.
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications include Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsement or the ability to obtain. Successful applicants will possess the ability to deal politely, effectively and responsibly with the public.
We are also hiring for our winter 22-23 season with applicants starting employment on October 31, 2022 and premium winter wage of $23.50 running from November 27, 2022 through April 9, 2023. Up to $3250 signing/season/safety/CDL bonus, winter ski pass discounts, access to free transferrable daily ski passes.
Rental housing is provided on a first-come-first-served basis for employees + spouse/partner.
