Minimum Qualifications
1. Michigan State Current Teaching License
2. Ability to work with diverse populations
3.. Experience working with youth and school communities
4. Ability to organize time, space, materials, and groups
5. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Function as a team member
7. Ability to develop and implement high quality programming
8. Ability to recognize staff and students development needs
9. Understanding of the psychology of youth and adolescent development
10. Ability to collaborate with community agencies
11. Understanding of the development of working with parental involvement and programming
12. Prior work with Summer Camps is a plus but not required

13. Valid driver’s license & a driving record acceptable to the University’s insurance carrier. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Desired Qualifications

Position Purpose
The Summer camp Coordinator will assist the Assistant director with overseeing Kindergarten through10th grade Summer camps within the School of Engineering and Computer Science

Job Duties
1. Facilitates with the pre-planning and prep work regarding camp including but not limited to: structure of day, recruitment/enrollment of students, applications, planning excursions etc.

2. Assists with supervising Lead Facilitators and facilitators

3. Supervise and monitor Lead facilitators, Facilitators, Counselors, and Interns

4. Assist with conversing with parents and guardians concerning child’s experiences within the summer camps

5. Gather correct student growth data for end of camp reports

7. Oversee facilitators schedule

8. Assure all paperwork is kept accurate including but not limited to: Transportation, attendance, class rosters, contact list for all staff etc.

9. Maintain a current and accurate record of all children enrolled in the Summer Camp or on the wait list 10. Contact parents if student is not showing up for the program

11. Work with Assistant Director to handle discipline and other issues

12. Other duties as assigned.
