Mission Point Resort, Mackinac Islands’ only full service, casual resort is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Sous Chef. This full time/seasonal position is located on Mackinac Island and offers competitive pay, housing, other perks. The ideal applicant will have two or more years of experience in Culinary leadership at a resort property, possess an upbeat leadership style, and have experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
As the Sous Chef, you will fill a key leadership role with an industry-recognized leader in hospitality management services. Their primary role is to oversee the lead cooks, line cooks, and stewards to execute international cuisine/farm to table concepts and the daily production, preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel’s restaurants and banquets. It is a priority to ensure that the highest standards for preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel’s restaurants are done in a safe and sanitary work environment. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef.
- High School education or equivalent and at least 3 years of culinary experience (with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role)
- Advanced knowledge of Culinary processes and procedures
- Strong communication and team building skills
- Ability to live and work on Mackinac Island seasonally
