Hi there! We’re looking for camp counselors for our 2022 summer season.

Open Positions: Camp Photographer, Waterskiing Staff, Kayaking Staff, Arts & Crafts Staff, Tennis Staff, Riflery Staff

Dates: June 13th – Aug. 24th

Compensation: Staff salaries are ~$2,600-$3,700 for the full summer. Housing and all meals are included!

Who are we?

We are an all-girls camp (ages 9-17) heading into our 97th summer! We’re on a mission to encourage young people to develop a sense of freedom and direction. We’re big on things like compassion, communication, and trust. We want everyone to feel comfortable being themselves, trying new things, and learning from their mistakes. We’re on a mission to give campers voice, choice, and agency as they explore interests and discover passions.

What makes our staff experience unique?

We have an incredible staff of 90 women, men, and non-binary folks from all around the world. Trust is a hallmark of our community, so our staff has a large measure of freedom. We want everyone to develop a sense of independence, autonomy, and responsibility within our community. Outside of activity hours, mealtimes, and other scheduled duties, staff are free to do as they wish. And unlike many other camps, Brown Ledge is structured so that staff live in cabins with other staff, not with campers.

We hire our Activity Staff for their teaching knowledge and expertise. Teaching is the most important aspect of our jobs and staff who find this rewarding often excel at Brown Ledge. Because our campers have the freedom to choose which activity they’d like to attend at any given time, we’ve found that our staff get to work with campers who really want to be there. Working with campers who are interested, engaged, and excited to learn makes for an incredibly rewarding and stimulating teaching experience!

This job might be for you if:

  • You love to help others achieve those aha! moments.
  • You’re adaptable and enjoy solving problems.
  • You communicate clearly and are a team player.
  • You are motivated and community-driven.
