Camp Wingate*Kirkland

Spend the summer of a lifetime on beautiful Cape Cod, Massachusetts at Camp Wingate*Kirkland! This is a rewarding experience for the right person who wants to grow as a leader, teaching children and staff learn to be the best versions of themselves. Camp W*K is looking for a talented, enthusiastic and one of a kind individual for our Younger Girls Lodge Leader position. This is a management/supervisor position overseeing approximately twenty staff and seventy kids.

The role of the Lodge Leader is to maintain a positive team atmosphere that is supportive and welcoming to campers, families and staff. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Lodge Leader must set an example for everyone in the Camp community, approaching every day with a smile and a positive bias. They are actively involved in staff training, operations, feedback, and programming.

The Lodge Leader’s job is to work with the bunk counselors to make the lodge living experience a successful one for both campers and staff. Consequently, they oversee all of the various components of bunk life. Also, the growth and development of the W*K staff is vital to the camp community, and it is the lodge leader’s role to help facilitate it. This process begins during staff week when the Lodge Leaders work with counselors to build strong co-counseling teams that will be able to work together to create a positive and safe living environment and solve problems as they arise. During the course of the summer, Lodge Leaders will meet regularly with the counselors, both formally and informally, to discuss bunk issues and to provide the counselors with ongoing feedback about their performance and progress. The Lodge Leader also serves as an integral part of Camp’s Leadership team, meeting regularly with the directors and program heads.
