Currently hiring for Lead Cook & Baker; positions start around June 1st through the end of the season, approximately July 31.
E&E Foods Big Creek plant is located in the remote region of Egegik Alaska. A seasonal shore processing plant in which Sockeye Salmon is the main focus of our processing operation. The objective of our kitchen staff is to prepare healthy, appetizing, eye-appealing meals for 100 to 150 with the guidelines set forth by the Facility Chef while working in a sanitary, professional, and healthy environment
Lead Cook – Essential Function:
- Cooks and prepares a variety of foods according to the Facility Chef’s production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Set up work station with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepares Ingredient by weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely utilizes a variety of utensils including knifes
- Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
- Bakes, roast, broils, steams, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Arranges, garnishes, and portion food according to Facility Chef’s guidelines
- Properly store foods by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Adheres to safety policies, drug Policies, and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by Facility Chef
Baker – Essential Function:
- Bakes and prepares a variety of desserts according to the Facility Chef’s production guidelines. As well as utilizes creativity in the creation of baked food items
- Set up work station with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepares Ingredient by weighing and mixing items
- Safely utilizes a variety of utensils
- Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
- Properly store foods by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Adheres to safety policies, drug policies, and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
- Helps serve foods at mealtimes as necessary
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by Facility Chef
Wage:
Between $16/hr & $16.50/hr, plus overtime, depending on experience.
Free Room and Board
Transportation from point of hire and return (upon season completion) is provided at no cost.
Requirements
Due to COVID-19 risk to employees and communities, anyone hired to work and live in our communal Alaska operations must be vaccinated.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must show availability to work in the USA
- Must be comfortable in a diverse serving and living environment.
- Must comply with all COVID-19 protocols and all company safety guidelines and policies.
- 4 to 5 years experience PREFERRED
- Safe Serve certification preferred
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision required
- Proven knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs
