We are seeking one individual who loves being in the wilderness, is handy and self-reliant, enjoys working with their hands, and has a good work ethic and friendly positive attitude. In addition to our full-service deluxe fishing lodge, we also run a small remote outpost camp on a small lake within walking distance of our blue-ribbon salmon and trout river. We are looking for one individual to stay at and look after this remote property. The property is self-sufficient, but totally off the grid and hosts 2-5 guests typically for one night at a time.
We are seeking a solo property manager for June through early August to be responsible for the following:
- Cleaning and maintaining cabins between overnight guest stays
- Greeting and unloading floatplanes
- Orienting new guests to the property
- Building a few small out-buildings (if you have carpentry experience)
- Cutting/Splitting/Stocking firewood
- Clearing new hiking trails and maintaining existing ones
- General maintenance and fixes as needed
- Assisting river guides with moving rafts and river gear from the lake cabin to the river.
All ~ Food and private cabin accommodations will be included. A travel stipend to Anchorage from your home is provided. This is a very awesome, unique experience for someone who enjoys working in a wilderness setting, and enjoys solitude but is personable around other people. Limited, temporary power on the property. There is a hot off-grid shower available. Activities include kayaking, fishing, and hiking. Please elaborate on your skill-set with respect to “hobby farm” type abilities. A non-drinker is preferred. Applicants may be subjected to a background check and drug test.
