Field Instructors are pivotal to the success of each and every student. Field instructors work an 8 day on, 6 day off schedule. For the entire 8 days, instructors hike and camp with clients in the National Forest. Second Nature serves adolescents (13-17). Field Instructors work with Licensed Therapists to deliver an individualized experience to each client.
The Field Instructor position is ideal for individuals who wish to have a positive impact on youth, while working in a beautiful outdoor setting. Second Nature is known for its outstanding Field Instructors and high Field Instructor to student ratios. Field Instructors receive comprehensive wilderness and therapeutic skills training during a 7-day Orientation trip along with continuous, consistent training throughout their employment at Second Nature.
Applicants come to Second Nature with a variety of backgrounds and experience. An open mind and willingness to learn are essential. Minimum requirements: Applicants are required to have a current physical and current CPR (American Red Cross) and Standard First Aid certification. Second Nature will also process a State and Federal criminal background check (BCI) of all potential employees.
