Vista Verde Ranch is offering free staff housing! Work and play in Steamboat Springs, surrounded by the Routt National Forest and 7 miles from the Continental Divide. No experience is necessary. Jobs start Dec. 1.

Vista Verde Ranch exudes the authentically western yet luxurious atmosphere with private cabins, a full program of activities, gourmet dinners, and an unbeatable location. During the winter we offer our guests a full program that includes horseback riding, nordic skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, fat tire biking, ice fishing, yoga, wine tasting, archery, photography, Barn Dance with lessons, Live music, and much more!

The primary duty of each of our staff members involves guest relations. We are here to serve the needs of our guests and provide them with an outstanding vacation. More specifically, you will be expected to learn their names, engage them in conversation, answer their questions, assist them in any way that you can, and, in sum, be friendly and an ambassador and host for the Vista Verde Ranch.

All of our staff live on-site in bunkhouse style accommodations and are very interactive with our guests at all times, so a love for people and a positive attitude is a “must.”

Our winter season runs from the beginning of December to the beginning of April with the possibility of returning for our summer season.

Our compensation package consists of a base wage and an equitable share of the tip pool.

Room and board are provided at a nominal daily rate. All meals, washing facilities, bed linens, pillows, and towels are provided.

Specific Job Summaries

Dishwasher: Dishwashers are responsible for maintaining a clean and functional dish area. They must work well under pressure quickly and efficiently, maintain a tidy staff room and be open to the possibility of jumping in on other ranch projects.

Waitstaff: Responsibilities include set up of the dining room, serving meals, simple food preparation, operating the fireplace, and daily cleaning of the dining room. We also expect staff to learn the names and proper service of the different styles of wine on our wine list. Waitstaff must be friendly and able to anticipate the needs of our guests.

Housekeeper: Housekeepers are responsible for the daily upkeep and cleanliness of all public ranch buildings and guest accommodations. When the cleaning is completed, housekeepers are expected to help out in other areas of the ranch.
