We are looking for a creative Experienced Cook to work in our small open professional farmhouse kitchen creating daily menus based on local ingredients available, guests’ diets, and your own creative preferences. Our last chef was here for 20 years!
Seasonal full or part-time work (possibly longer), at a small inn with a long history in a fabulous location surrounded by the Green Mountain National Forest, with a focus on outdoor recreation – hiking, biking, running, swimming- good (fresh and local) food, and genuine hospitality. The Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center is located across the road from the Inn. Start dates from May – July. Preference is given to those who can commit to staying through October though all dates will be considered. Attention to detail is a must & open communication is key
Our open kitchen requires a friendly applicant with an even and kind temperament. Serving anywhere from a handful of guests to 100 at our largest events, but averaging 18-26 or so.
The ideal applicant is committed to locally sourced foods, has experience in creating menus, works well with others, is organized, and has some knowledge of budgeting and cost analysis. Experience in wood-fired pizza is a plus as we host community Pizza/Music events on a regular basis throughout the summer/early fall. Primarily evening work but will also include some breakfast and split shifts, All workers at the inn assist with other daily innkeeping tasks as time allows or as needed. Our chefs/cook do dishes too! This position is advertised as seasonal but has the potential for a longer-term for the right person. We would welcome a couple to share housing if they are both working on site. This is a full-time position through mid to late October. All wages commensurate with experience, commitment, and housing requirements.
Private/shared room and board in the inn are $125/$200 a week. An additional housing option in an 800sf newly renovated house on-site may be available for rent for a long-term person or couple- $250 per week.
Wages vary depending on experience and commitment $18- $20 hour, 30-40 hours a week. End of season bonus of $15 week worked for all staff that complete work agreement, contingent on housing left in the condition found and a minimum of three months working.
