Full-time position to work 35 hours per week during the school year. Cafeteria workers are eligible to enroll for various full-year benefits under the Town of Wareham including health insurance, dental, vision, etc. Includes 10 paid holidays during the school year.This position is responsible for all assigned aspects of meal production, service, sanitation, and safety. Assigned duties will include the following: Serve meals to students and staffEnsure safe and proper portioning of foodMake sure that all intended reimbursable meals include the required food items on the trayUse proper food handling techniques (hand washing methods, gloves, masks, and hair restraints) as neededRefill serving line as needed between lunchesOperate a computer to process lunch chargesManage cash drawer.

Accurately count and record cash total each day.Responsibly manage snack station and accompanying cash box or drawerAssist in end of day clean up, including but not limited to: washing/sanitizing pots, pans, dishes, silverware, tables, and all other equipment as necessaryPrepare food for meal service using standardized recipesOperate various equipment in a safe manner (equipment includes, but is not limited to: convection ovens, steamers, steam-jacketed kettles, steam tables, tilting skillets, microwave ovens, ranges, and slicers)Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines: Ensure that all food, dry goods, and chemicals are handled and stored appropriatelyDate, rotate, and discard all appropriate food itemsMonitor the temperature of food as it passes through storage, production, and serviceEnsure that the kitchen and cafeteria are sanitized and organizedMake sure that all equipment, dishware, and utensils are sanitizedPerform any and all other tasks as assigned by the Cafeteria ManagerInteract in a professional and courteous manner with the students and staff. Report any problems to the Cafeteria Manager.
