Description and Essential Functions
GMT provides transportation services every ski season for the Stowe and Sugarbush ski resorts. The service begins in November and runs through early April, with up to 40 hours a week available.

Responsible for the supervision and support of seasonal bus operators and seasonal route services in Stowe and the Mad River Valley. In addition, this position will be required to fully act as a seasonal bus operator.

  • Assist the Operations Management team in creating and leading the achievement of the operational goals for the department
  • Provides feedback to the Operations Management team to assist with the performance management of the driver group
  • Maintains a high level of appreciation for guest satisfaction and assists in the day-to-day management of transit operations
  • Provides oversight and mentoring functions for bus crews
  • Supervises teams in safe and effective bus transportation procedures to ensure compliance with the law and department goals
  • Demonstrates thorough preventive maintenance procedures and pre and post-trip bus inspection to maintain bus in good operating condition
  • Communicates consistent and accurate information to bus operators and the public
  • Provides customer service that is helpful to the passenger enabling them to reach their final destination by answering questions, giving directions, and providing information about GMT transit services
  •  Acts as a role model that will foster professionalism
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications 

A combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.  Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Education and/or Experience:  An Associate’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a transit-related field is preferred. A combination of experience and education may be substituted. The minimum age for all employees in this position is 21 years of age. A CDL and clean driving record are required. Familiarity with transportation service areas and knowledge of the safe and efficient operation of buses and transit routes are beneficial.
