FUNCTION:
Responsible for the supervision of the Bell Persons and the overall daily activities of the bell desk. The Bell Captain maintains the highest level of integrity to our guests and team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the productivity of bell staff during assigned shift.
  • Responsible for efficiently and accurately completing the arrival and departure of each guest.
  • Train new team members in all aspects of Bell Services, overseeing outstanding displays of guest service with the bell desk team members.
  • Transport guests and personnel to and from the airport, or various other destinations.
  • Train bell persons on the transportation of luggage, answering of telephones, and the escort of guests to their accommodations.
  • Must be able to maneuver in and around hallways, elevators, hotel/casino corridors and retail areas while efficiently delivering guests luggage in a timely manner.
  • Maintain energy and enthusiasm, willingness to serve, and consistently demonstrate property and company service standards for the duration of shift.
  • Exhibit a sincere desire and compliance to all guest requests. Anticipates needs, proactively helps, and offers personalized recommendations based on current events.
  • Proactively interact, respond to, and anticipate guest needs for service; inquiries regarding hotel features, services, outlet hours, and room accounts through effective communication, guest assistance, direction, and information provided within company policies/guidelines in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Project a positive and upbeat tone of voice, maintain eye contact, smile, and display positive body language.
  • Supervise the handling of all tour group luggage; accounting for luggage counts and proper tagging and recording of luggage distribution.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency when assisting guests, maintaining a calm, and composed manner.
  • Maintain inventory of all printed supplies and notifies Guest Services Manager when orders are required.
  • Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests.
  • Using the Nugget’s system of recognition, recognize team members who are going “above and beyond” as appropriate
  • Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager.
  • Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
  • Regular predictable attendance is required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Guest Services Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 21 years of age. Capable of driving a manual and automatic transmission vehicle.

EDUCATION LEVEL:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.

LANGUAGE:
Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 1 year of previous experience as a Bell person is required.
Minimum 1 year in a supervisory role is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Alcohol Awareness Certification within the first 30 days required.
Valid Nevada driver’s license and clean 3-year DMV record required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
Ability to lift, and move product up to 80 lbs.
Fine finger manipulation.
Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.
Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
